Schedule THIS IS A TEMPORARY 8-12 WEEK POSITION - OVERNIGHTS (FRI, SAT, SUN) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients Support clients in accessing community resources Provide effective crisis intervention Teach independent living skills, such as cooking & cleaning effectively Demonstrate active listening skills Prioritize daily tasks Utilize individualized approach to client services Qualifications Attainment of at least 18 years of age.
Education:
High School graduate or possess a GED.
Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work preferred.
Experience:
One year full-time experience working directly with clients in a program serving people with mental illness.
An approved Plan of Supervision may be substituted for one year full-time experience.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of and belief in the principles of client centered treatment.
Knowledge of medications and interventions preferred.
Special Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.
Hiring is contingent upon receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption, a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508), a TB test, and clearance on an employment physical.
Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred prior to employment.
