What you'll doAs a Software Engineer on the Tactical Gateways team, you will play a key role in the development of distributed applications to manage Viasat s gateway and edge devices.
Our team is entering an exciting new phase developing the latest edge device management technologies.
The day-to-dayYou have the passion to design, code and test highly scalable applications that focus on the business requirements of external and internal customers and enable industry leadership in the cloud computing space.
You possess the creativity and the motivation to deliver exceptional customer experience and to solve real problems for real users.
You interact with customers and project management on developing solid domain and problem understanding and work with fellow application and core platform engineers to build solutions for those customer projects.
What you'll need5
years of software development experience or 5
years of directly relevant experienceBachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplineSignificant experience working with Python, Javascript, C/C++, and LinuxExcellent oral and written communicationExperience with CM, issue tracking, and development tools such as Git, Perforce and JIRAExperience with hardware/software integration, testing, software design & architectureFamiliarity with Linux development toolsFamiliarity with ScrumUS government position.
US Citizenship required / Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain oneAbility to travel up to 10%What will help you on the jobAdvanced Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplineKnowledge & hands on experience with Link-16, familiarity with MIL-STD-6016Familiarity with CI/CD tools including JenkinsSuccessfully delivered customer projects through entire software lifecycleSalary range$141,300.
00 - $245,800.
00 / annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
