Medical Billing Representative

Submits patient claims to insurance carriers, following filing procedures for each carrier
Acts as liaison between physician's offices and insurance carriers, to acquire needed information (doctor's notes, patient testing logs); has ability to persuade and acquire information in a timely and effective manner
Responsible for accounts receivables, billing charges, payment postings and collections
Responsible for explaining insurance benefits to patients and collecting co-insurances and deductibles
Enters and updates all insurance information into each patient's account, including patient's copay and deductible amounts
For Managed Care patients, obtain prior authorizations as determined by health plan or medical group requirements
Follows up on denied insurance claims, and resubmits for reprocessing
Attends all team and company training as required
Anything and everything in order to get the job done

Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma required
Excellent Computer proficiency especially in MS Word and Excel required
Billing and Coding Certification required/preferred
Typing accuracy of 45 wpm minimum
Knowledge of medical terminology
1-2 years administrative experience preferred
1-2 years insurance verification experience preferred
1-2 years customer service experience preferred.
Database and accounting data entry experience preferred
Clear diction and knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal
Work history of excellent attendance and punctuality
Solid mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
$11/hr starting pay
Once a direct hire for 90 days - Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401K matching plan
Once a direct hire for 1 year - Paid Time Off
Once a direct hire for 1 1/2 years - Profit Sharing

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
