Fish and Wildlife Biologist

Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Conducting environmental impact assessments (i.e., Endangered Species Act (ESA) - in particular Section 7, National Environment Policy Act (NEPA), Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Acts, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, Federal Land Policy and Management Act, Natural Resources Damage Assessment) as well as Service/Department and other Federal, Tribal and State rules and regulations. Reviews and processes routine research/recovery permits and other recovery/ESA-related documents to ensure correct form(s) are submitted and are accurately completed and signed. Participates in the development and management of fish and/or wildlife mitigation or management plans. Prepares and delivers presentations on various aspects of the Ecological Services Program. Only experience and education obtained by 08/27/2020 will be considered. Education Requirement for the 0401 Occupational Series:
Degree:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications for the 7 grade level:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience may include:
A good understanding of basic biological and ecological principles, particularly as those relate to natural resource conservation; Familiarity with the Endangered Species Act. OR Successful completion of 1 full year (18 semester hours) of graduate education in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above that, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. OR Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
