About the role:

The Vertiflex Procedure is redefining the treatment of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis (LSS) for patients. It provides patients with a clinically proven, minimally invasive solution that is designed to deliver long-term relief from the leg and back pain associated with LSS. This level-one evidence-based procedure is supported by data from patients who reported successful outcomes up to five years.

Drive strategic oversight of the Vertiflex Professional Education group globally to develop and ultimately implement various educational programs, training programs, proctoring, and tools that support physician and allied healthcare professional education and training on the Vertiflex Procedure. Manage a group of Professional Education Program Managers, Meeting and Event Planners, and Specialists to work collaboratively with internal cross functional partners (compliance, legal, marketing, sales, R&D, medical affairs, and scientific affairs) and HCPs (faculty, proctors and speakers) to execute educational/training events through the appropriate processes, ensuring high standards are met for the education/training content and compliance. Oversee the professional development of the individuals on the team through coaching, educational/development resources, and general leadership. Interact directly with the Neuromodulation executive leadership team to ensure professional education is executed according to the strategic plan and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop approach, scope, and methodology of educational/training programs and materials to maximize educational effectiveness by determining the target audience, time and location requirements, content requirements, and other applicable factors
  • Partner with commercial leadership to identify and to prioritize key training/educational needs
  • Remain aware of all changes that may impact training requirements by seeking out information that may change the clinical process/technique and implementing changes/improvements to training protocols and materials accordingly;
  • Evolve the content and format of BSC training programs throughout the product lifecycle
  • Monitor and update training requirements and records as needed
  • Support Professional Education initiatives for Vertiflex products across multiple audiences
  • Influence program agendas and support content development
  • Support the development and approval of continuing education modules for Vertiflex through various platforms
  • Ensure that post-training results meet organizational targets and expectations by developing, collecting and analyzing post-training data across various programs
  • Responsible for developing the annual training/proctoring/education plan and the operating budget
  • Develop and share metrics on educational/training events quarterly
  • Manage the annual training calendar and resourcing of events
  • Identify and manage the list of HCP trainers, proctors, and speakers with the appropriate credentials, and develop relationships with these individuals
  • Establish strong collaborative relations with internal cross-functional partners (sales, Medical Affairs, compliance, legal, reg, clinical, marketing, and R&D) to reinforce and align the educational objectives through various training and education events;
  • Work with and ultimately gain final approval from Compliance on the Annual Needs Assessments, to supporting training and educational events
  • Work with physician partners to design relevant and current training courses
  • Attend scientific conferences and programs in relevant therapeutic areas to maintain current knowledge and gain new ideas relevant to training and education
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, with attention to HCP Global Compliance guidance
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team of direct and indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7
    years of medical education/physician training experience
  • 5
    Years of experience working directly with Pain and/or Spine clinicians in the minimally invasive space
  • Experience leading and managing a team
